EMPLOYMENT HISTORY (Since graduation)

Nov 94 - Jan 95: Technical Assistant [ADAS Wolverhampton]

A temporary, 3 month contract. Part of a team responsible for getting a new, highly automated milk-testing laboratory running smoothly and efficiently after its installation and initial setting up. Main duties included the computer generation and allocation of bar-codes to all milk-producing establishments submitting samples, and maintenance of associated databases. Other duties included the continual monitoring and updating of the L.I.M.S. (Laboratory Information Management System) Real-Time Database, production of a training manual and various clerical tasks.

Mar 95 - Nov 95: Self-Employed

Working on a contract basis and under a Company name of DC Computer Services, undertook a 6 month part-time database development project using MS Access v2.0 / v7.0 / 97 for use in the Sales Department of Lew-Ways Ltd, a local, medium sized manufacturing company. On-going development and consultancy has been provided up until the present day. Other services provided to private individuals and small businesses during this period were hardware and software installation, training, consultancy and troubleshooting.

Nov 95 – June 96 - Software Product Specialist

A unique position held as a member of the Product Strategy Group within the National Response Centre, at the heart of the SCH Information Network my main duty was to provide Help-Desk oriented pre-sales support and information on the core product range of Microsoft, Lotus, IBM and Novell software (and others) to internal staff in the corporate and retail sales divisions covering all SCC Branch Offices and Byte Computer Superstore Business Centres in the UK.

June 96 onwards - Network Servers & Operating Systems Product Specialist

Similar to my initial role but providing mainly pre-sales technical support and information on Network Servers (Compaq, AST, IBM, Digital, HP.), Network Operating Systems (predominantly Netware and Windows NT) and Server Management Software. The service being extended to all divisions of SCH.

Other duties include the maintenance of product databases and pricelists, development of information tools for the sales force, liaison with Account Managers, assisting in the preparation of customer quotations and tenders and the production of reports and bulletins.
